So I heard you can get eggs if you attack Cuccos.
So I attacked one and it gave me an egg.
I thought 'Cool, free eggs!'
Attacked it a few more times.
And as soon as that chicken turned on me, I remembered.

Rule #1 of Zelda games.
Don't fuck with Cucoos. TuT

Wait that's a real thing? I've only played A Link to the Past (where they did nothing, at least after seven or eight hits) and Twilight Princess, where you turned into the cucco for a bit. Which was kinda weird...

@ThatTrollFaith: Oh yeah this is a very real thing. The cuccos are a very real and deadly threat. Granted I kind of forgot about this for a while but even if I played again before I saw this to remind me, I would still not attack them.

@ThatTrollFaith: In A Link to the Past, if you keep attacking one, they will eventually start to swarm the screen, trying to kill you.

ahh~ I remember those days

I remember in Ocarina, I would get on Epona and run over Cucoos until they started attacking and then run around the farm with an army of cucoos following me.
I felt like a king followed by loyal henchmen because I discovered something very wonderful. Cucoos can't hurt you when you're riding your horse.
(don't know if the same rules apply these days, but it's worth a try)

@Daz Keaty: And thus the true evil of Hyrule is discovered. Not the Lord Ganon or the wizard Vaati. No not even Zant and his army of twili monsters.
But one foolish child riding a horse into battle followed by an army of bloodthirsty poultry

After seeing the gif in the author's comment this morning, I just had to turn on my Breath of the Wild game to see if monsters can really trigger cucco swarms.
