One of the main reasons I was excited about the Switch was that it was the least gimmicky console that Nintendo seemed to push out. But it turns out, it was a little too soon to call it that, because it has a LOT of gimmicks to it.

I do still want one, but If I don't get one on launch day (Which isn't likely, given Nintendo's infamous poor distribution methods) I won't lose any sleep. :I

@Tactful assault: This is just my opinion of it. I'd say watch the video and come up with your own conclusions.

The 3DS even had tons of gimmicks but I still enjoyed it. So I might be wrong.

The fudge?! NO!
I had enough of the motion controls with the wii and 3ds. I'm not getting another console with the same stupid mechanic.

Also: wtf?! How do people not know HD is for video?? just...what??

@Daz Keaty: Ive got enough entertainment options for now, the 3ds is only one of few handhelds and only way to play new pokemon games so its by default not to bad :)

Frankly, I don't think you need to worry very much about the motion controls. of the games they've shown, only Arms and 1-2 switch look like they'll be a requirement. of the rest, only splatoon and mario kart even look like they will have them, but it will most likely have an option to toggle them on and off. as for the third party companies, I highly doubt very many of them are actually considering to use motion controls. it seems less like a console-wide gimmick and more of just another feature that only a handful of games will actually use.
